NAACP ALABAMA STATE CONFERENCE CELEBRATES IT'S 55TH ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE CONVENTION IN MOBILE, A

Mobile was the host Branch of the the 55th Annual NAACP Alabama State Conference Convention which was held October 4th, 5th and 6th at the Ashbury Hotel and Suites. This year's theme was “Learn from the past organize for the Future.” 

This was an election year for the Alabama State Conference and Ed Vaughn was re-elected president of the Alabama State Conference. The 2nd Vice went to Bernard Simelton of the Limestone County Branch, Secretary went to Marie Kirby and Jerry Clark of the Dothan Wiregrass Branch was elected Treasurer.

Ms. Nassandra Iverson, a member of the Dothan Wiregrass Branch and first time attendy said,"This was truly a learning experience." Throughout the Convention there where many seminars held dealing with topics such as Economic Development, membership, and History of the NAACP and Civil Rights.
