The NAACP Alabama State Conference will sponsor a gala inaugural event

“Inaugural Ball `09”

to honor the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States of America The Honorable Barack Obama and the Presidents and executive officers of NAACP Branchs and Youth & College Chapters from all over the State of Alabama. The Inaugural Ball will be on President Barack Obama’s Inaugural Day Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the beautiful new Dothan Convention Center, 4106 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, Alabama. Yes an Alabama Inaugural Ball for President Obama & The Alabama NAACP … in Alabama!!

We expect a message to us from President Obama. The gala will also feature Obama Memorabilia and world class entertainment.

The Inaugural Ball will be a Classy event to honor President Obama and the NAACP Alabama State Conference. The Dress is Black Tie/Formal. Dinner will be served. Tickets are $50.00 per person. We will also have Theatre Style Seating @ $10.00 per person. Make checks payable to “NAACP” and mail to the above address.

Please Note: Hotel Rooms have been blocked for out of town visitors at the Fabulous New Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, 4090 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL. Phone (334) 699-6868. Ask for the NAACP Block – Rooms are $80.00 per night. The new Dothan Convention Center at 4106 Ross Clark Circle is in the same complex as the hotel. Both facilities are black owned.

Coming To Dothan, Alabama “kinda-sorta”

For NAACP Inaugural Ball `09, January 20th

Edward Vaughn NAACP Alabama State President announced today that President Barack Obama will be in Dothan, Alabama Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 7 p.m. for the NAACP “Inaugural Ball `09” at The Dothan Convention Center, 4106 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan

His appearance is kinda-sorta because he will be in the form of a large life size stand up poster. Inaugural Ball guests will be able to take a picture with President Obama much like the photograph of President Edward Vaughn with President Obama taken earlier this year in Detroit, Mi.

The banquet will feature a sit down dinner and world class entertainment by original Motown Recording Star Kim Weston of Detroit, Michigan; Melissa of Atlanta, Georgia; the Johnny Forester Band of Montgomery, AL.; Miss Indian Alabama 2009; Lois Barber; Belvia Jones and the White House - Greater Beulah Praise Dance Team among others.
