HANGING DEATH
IN DOTHAN, ALABAMA

Zachary Smith, A 17 year old African-American Male 11th grade Student at Dothan High School, Dothan, Alabama was found hung to death at Dothan’s city owned East Gate ball park Pavilion on Wed. Nov. 8th 2006.

The NAACP Alabama state Conference, the NAACP State Legal Redress Committee and the NAACP Dothan/Wiregrass Branch has called for a full investigation by the Dothan Police Dept., the Alabama Bureau of Investigation (ABI) and the Federal Bureau of investigation (FBI) because so many questions in this case have not been answered.

Zachary’s mother and father, Mrs. Shena and Mr. Paul Smith said they wanted the truth of their Son’s death.

Mr. Smith on viewing his son’s body stated, “It looked like A Lynching.”

Edward Vaughn, President of the NAACP Alabama State Conference said “only the truth will clear the Air in the Hanging death of young Zachary Smith.”
